Home2 Suites/Tru by Hilton- Downtown St. Louis, Missouri

Located at 1221 Locust Street in downtown St. Louis, the historic Shell Building was originally constructed in 1926 as the corporate headquarters for Royal Dutch Shell’s United States subsidiaries, including Roxana Petroleum Corporation.

The 12-story Art Deco and Late Gothic Revival building has served several commercial uses over time, including office, co-working, and media space. The rehabilitation transformed the property into a dual-brand Home2 Suites and Tru by Hilton hotel.

The project preserved the building’s historic character while adapting it for modern hospitality use, returning a prominent downtown landmark to active use and continuing its role in St. Louis’s architectural history.
